Today was the last day for Gido, the aged German student in our class. At the beginning, I detested him due to his distracting body odor. Seriously, concentration seems to be an uphill task when I was seated next to him, as the body odor distracted me in to concocting an escape plan from my current position. However, the situation improved as the days passed, as my nose adapted to his smell.
Now, all feelings of hatred has perished, and it seemed saddening that everyone will eventually reach a crossroad and head for our separate ways. :(
After our usual morning lesson today, the NUS bunch went for the excursion to Aigues-Mort and horse-riding. Aigues-Mort is a petite village which looks like where people will live in the Medieval times. We spent most of our time there at a tidbits store buying bonbons, chocolates and biscuits. Each of us spent a bomb there. Lol. But I thought that it was worth it. I just hope my biscuits wont lao hong before I return to Singapore.
After that, we went for horse-riding. Fortunately, it wasn't like the zoo whereby a person sits on the horse and the zookeeper leads the horse around a field. We really got to ride tame horses which are trained to follow the leader infront. It was an interesting experience trying to urge the horse to gallop. I tried various ways, from using the hind of my foot to whack his sides, to sweet-talking the horse, but it didn't work. :( It just trot along like the others.
I enjoyed the excursion immensely though. Damn fun stepping into rivers while riding a horse. hahaha.
Today is Jose's birthday, and I didn't know until I saw the cake in the kitchen. Sophie's friend came over for the celebration, with her son Gabriel. It was kind of embarassing doing the French greeting with Gabriel, because I don't really know how to do it! haha. You have to kiss the cheeks of a stranger. =/ I gave a pack of Olive Chocolates to Jose as presents (which I intended to give my mum initially; lucky I bought 2), and I think he was happy to receive it. :)
What surprised me though, is that the French doesn't sing Birthday songs, make Birthday wishes and blow Birthday candles. They skipped immediately to cutting cake (may I mention, the ice-cream cake was fabulous). Bizarre huh. And England and Algeria draw today! Omg. World Cup sucks this year. All the results are distorted and unpredictable.
France lost to Mexico. Germany lost to Siberia. What's next? South Africa becoming World Cup Champion?
As I told my friend, 'Don't gamble soccer this year lah! Gahment getting richer only!'. -_-"
Sophie and her family will be going to the countryside tomorrow to visit a relative. I wouldn't be tagging along as I will be visiting Avignon with the people at school. So I'll be staying at the house alone for a night. I seriously hope there wouldn't be break-ins when they're not around. lol. And I would be spending Sunday alone at Montpellier as Geraldine, Deenise and Marissa will be going Marseilles as they got the Europass. I didn't want to tag along as the train ticket is too expensive for me (55 euros!).
I think I'll visit the museum or go for a run as Sophie suggested. :D
Emo Sunday lol.
